Rare Liberty & Co Silver & Enamel Caddy Spoon By Archibald Knox 1910:
a very fine silver &enamelart nouveau coronation caddy spoonby archibald knox for liberty & co,it has awonderful enamelledgr(george rex) & crowndesign to the handlewhich are typical of the art nouveau & arts & crafts period (there is a small mark under the enamel possibly a bubble?),it is of thefinest qualityand would have been sold throughthe liberty & costore in londons regent streetas part of the cymric range,there were several designers using this medium of design and decoration during this era,amongst those the most notable were,jessie m king,charles hornerand james fenton.thespoon would have been produced byhaselers of birmingham,these were the only silversmith making for libertys and produced the cymric silver ware range plus the tudric pewter range also,it carries the lion passant mark for sterling and the birmingham date letterl for1910 and thel&c punch in the three diamond lozenge,it measures 3&5/8ths" long,the spoon has no damage or repairs but is over 100 years old so may have some signs of age and use,please feel free to ask any questions and i will reply within 24hours,this is a genuine piece and should not be mistaken for the unmarked copies and reproduction items offered on .postage is by special delivery in the u.k and airsure or signed for to international destinations.
