A very nice rare and highly desireable North Nova Scotia Highlanders Third Division battledress, greatcoat and helmet. The battledress is dated 1943 and is made by the Workman Uniform Co and is Broad C arrow stamped. It is a size 4, 5'5 to 5'6 It has the early brass hook and eyelet closure to the collar. It is in worn condition but is free of any holes or moth in so far as I can observe. The battledress is very unique and special as it has the extremely rare printed shoulder flashes that were only used for a very short period of time as the printing did not fair well. It has French gray divisional flashes. All insignia is hand sewn and appears original to the battledress. The epaulet s are retained by the early composition buttons. The greatcoat is British made and labelled Great Coat dismounted 1940 pattern Size number 10 Coss and Morris dated 1943 as well. All brass buttons are Canadian and the insignia is all canvas. Nicely machine sewn Canvas Canada titles and Canvas Gray Third Divisional titles. The greatcoat is named to a Smale .The helmet is stamped 1941 on the interior liner. There is also a tartan patch of North Nova Scotia Highlander's tartan removed from a balmoral or Glengarry. This is an extremely rare and highly desireable and researchable D Day group to a named veteran. In my 31 years of collecting Canadian battledress this is the only BD with these rare printed titles that I have ever owned. Please email me for actual shipping at sale close.
