an unusual silver and enamelcigarette caseby archibald knox for liberty & co,it hasa wonderful central enamel plaqueinvibrant blues &greens which are typical of the art nouveau & arts & crafts period,it is of thefinest qualityand would have been sold throughthe liberty & costore in londons regent streetas part of the cymric range,there were several designers using this medium of design and decoration during this era,amongst those the most notable were,murrle bennett,jessie m king,charles hornerand james fenton.thecase would have been produced byhaselers of birmingham,these were the only silversmith making for libertys and produced the cymric silver ware range plus the tudric pewter range also,it carries the lion passant mark for sterling and the birmingham date letterf for1904 and thewhh punch for haselers,the clasp is in working order although one section of the hinge appears detached it does not affect the opening or closing,the interior retains most of it's gilt and some of its contents(i will remove these prior to posting is requested),one of the elastic retainers has lost it's end piece,it measures 3" x 2.75" and it has age related scratches to the back,please feel free to ask any questions and i will reply within 24hours,this is a genuine piece and should not be mistaken for the unmarked copies and reproduction items offered on ,it will be sent byspecial delivery in the u.k and airsure or signed for to international destinations.
