Vacuum Cleaner Vintage Hoover Model 150, For Parts Or Repair:
First let me tell you reconditioning vacuum cleaners is a hobby for me the last 8yrs.,BUT I do not do any thing this old. This came from a local estate sale.
This Hoover is being sold for parts or repair only!
This is a Hoover model 150, what I found on the net was it went into production in 1935, you can see in the one photo, this is stamped 1939.
Here is what I can tell you about this hoover, the motor runs and sounds pretty good, but I see 1 blade on the fan is broken off. The switch is very touchy and would need replace, it is a 2speed switch. I gently hand washed the bag, and it is in fairly good shape, but has been stitched in a couple of places on the back. The bottom bracket on the bag that attaches to the machine, has a piece broken off it, (see picture ). The brush roll seems pretty good, the bearing are not frozen, and if you repacked them, I think it would work fine. The cord is in good condition, it is not dry rotted and is still very pliable. As you can see in the photos the bumper is missing on both sides. The bakelite hood is in very good shape. I see it is stamped on the bottom 1963 and 1969, I am sure that was when the vacuum was in the shop for repairs. I am sure there are parts on this that are not orginal, like the handle grip.
From whatI found on the net, this is a fairly rare model. In the hands of the right person I am sure this could be turned back into a nice collectable Hoover.

One thing I forgot to mention, the strap on the back of the handle that holds the bag is gone, the bag was held up with a piece of string
