A very nice set of 6 uncirculated 10 Pfennig Judaica notgeld notes from the town of Arnstadt. The six 10 Pf notes show caricatures of Jewish capitalism and capitalists – because the Jews, after the First World War, were seen as the typical profiteers and extortioners/racketeers in the needy Germany. They were collecting the \"golden eggs\". The notes are drawn by A. Paul Weber (APW) – born 1893 in Arnstadt – he died 1980. He was a very famous, internationally known and honored German lithographer, satirist and caricaturist – all his life criticizing nuisances in society. As a young artist, he illustrated some highly antisemitic pamphlets. After 1933, under the Hitler regime, he changed to an antifascist. See picture.
