For sale is a Davis Deputy or Fire tryer's Brass 6 Bar Safety Miners Lamp. This lamp was unique as it is fitted with a special shut off air ring at the base of the collar which can be released via the spring loaded bar. There was only 2 or 3 per mine so a scarce lamp.
The lamp is stamped 'Davis Derby', 'Davis Boss' and the numbers 4 and 8.
In very good condition - top half of lamp twists and locks into place. Two pieces of damage - one chip to the inside of the glass liner (not cracked through to the outside) and some old splits to the top casing as pictured.
Measures 24cm tall (not including loop or hook) and weighs just short of 2kg unpacked.
