This is a vintageItalian WW 2 aluminum mess kit. I foundit at an estate sale and was a WW 2 bring back souvenir. The style is the same as WW 1. It is decorated with trench art. I looked up the inscribed names on the lid. I feel the name Orlando is for Vittorio E. Orlando.This was a political figure of WW 1 & WW 2. The name CATANIA is a town in Italy. There are tanks and palm trees on ittoo. I am told this is a scarce and highlycollectable item.
