Vintage Ladies Buco Leather Steer Hide Motorcycle Jacket Very Nice Rare New Pics:
This is in very good condition. If you wanted to pick a little the pocket flap wants to curl up from having something against it in the closet. There is a few places that could use some black shoe cream or you could leave it as is. If you put the shoe cream on it ; it would look too new. It truly is a beautiful piece. My mother bought this used in the 1950's and she only wore it a few times. It say's on the tag that it's a medium but it is a very small medium. So small that I would say it's small- small. It is a steer hide ladies jacket ( notice the close up of the darts) It doesn't fit me or it would be mine -instead I get to sell it. This is very small- the waist is around a 24".It is a vintage Buco and every snap and zipper is intact and working smoothly. Can't find any rust on the snaps, buckle or zipper. The white tag reads 16 which makes me wonder if that is the model number (J16) or maybe the size in girls- but I can't find a picture of one just like it on the internet. J14 is close but not exactly. That's right- it appears to be the only one in captivity. So it's rare. Rare that it's a woman's , rare that it's so small and rare that it's in such amazing condition. The seams are all intact- the lining is unworn and the tags are even unworn. The belt has not even got a place worn where it buckled. I mink oiled it once to condition the leather but it was never dried or cracked. The lining did smell a little musty but I some Lysol brought it out of it. It's museum quality.Fair offers will be considered- please don't insult my Mom with ridiculously low offers. Taxes and shipping will be included in the original price so it won't be added on after check out.A little more about the size. To determine if this will fit reasonably comfortably -wearer should have measurements no more than :
chest- 35 "
waist- 25 "
arm length from armpit - 16" ( arms down sides)
arm length from top of shoulder-22" ( arms down sides)Jacket length is 19" from collar bone.
It is cut small. The sleeves are small in general but it's necessary to unzip the sleeves just to put it on. It's desirable to have them tight on the bottom for riding a motorcycle - to keep the bugs out. If you are unsure if it will fit then send me some arm measurements and I'll compare them to the jacket-zipped and unzipped. I want this to go to somebody who will happy with it and appreciate it so I don't mind a little extra measurements. The way the jacket hangs prevents it from showing any detail about the upper sleeves. It's also what makes it comfortable on a motorcycle.
