Vintage Large Rare Henri Napartuk Stone Inuit Eskimo Art Hand Carved Stone Bowl For Sale
this is an extremely rare vintage hand made original signedHenri Napartuk stone Inuit bowl.it is very rare in the fact that Henry almost never made bowls and made mostly Alaskan esque animals and figures.it is signed "HENRY" on the bottom of the bowl.it is made from very heavy thick material and measures 11 1/2 inches in diameter by 3 inches tall and is about 3/4 of an inch thick, has some nice weight to it.the lining is deeply hand engraved with a stunning cross hatched design, and a beautifully routed rim.the bowlhas a semi gloss finish with a nice patina, and nice deep black and brown color.I am pretty sure it is made from stone being this is the material Henry worked in, as well as it also looking and feeling like stone, but it could possibly be a heavy terracotta with added stone.it is very well carved and in good shape, it has some small imperfections but adds to the character of the bowl being handmade. VERY RARE ORIGINAL HIGH END INUIT BOWL....
