Designed by Jens Quistgaard in 1954 black nylon handles balanced with a plug of pewter in the end which appears to be a continuation of the satin finish stainless steel through the handle. This design helped win the prestigious LUMMING Award. This set has the "Three Duck" logo on the knives as well as the script JHQ. All other pieces are marked "Dansk Design, Germany". Kongo was produced in much lower quantities and is consequently harder to find. The design was always expensive and limited. PRODUCTION was discontinued in 1984, at that time it was selling for approximately $100.00 per 5 pc place setting.
This set was purchased in the early 1960s as a complete set, the set comes from an estate as pictured and is not married together.
