I have seen some vintage Sen Sen boxes listed on, but I have not seen one like this – Even searching through google images,other boxes are not advertised in the same way –

I do not know the exact date of this box. It is a cardboard box that is similar to amatchbox. An inner box slides out fromthe cardboard seal and shows a tiny hole that would dispense the Sen Senpieces. Other boxes I have seen have athumb push up of the outer sleeve on both sides. Or I have seen boxes that look similar to thisone but they will say “Breath Taking Refreshment.”

This box looks quite similar – It is red with a pinkbow and also has the 10 cent price on the box.This one is different in that the thumb push up of the outer sleeve isonly on one side. And quite different inthe advertising phrase. ThisSen-Sen is “For the Breath”“Throat Ease” “VALUABLE TOSINGERS AND SPEAKERS” – If you are a Sen Sen collector, I would think thatthe “Singers and Speakers” box would bequite a find.

Thisadvertising was found on the earliest Sen Sen packages – circa 1890s – butpackages at that time were priced at 5 cents. So, I do not know the exact decade of this box -

The size with the push up sleeve and tiny openingalso has “For the Breath” and Reg. U.S. Pat. Office. The side of the box gives the company andlocation: American Chicle Co.,Manufacturer New York, N.Y. Made in U.S.A.

Size: approx2 by 1 ½ by 3/8ths of an inch

Condition:good vintage – design and text still very legible and charming – doesshow some wear to the corners and edges of the box. Please see the many photos.Of course, it is empty.
