George Alexander Grant was a forgotten hero/photographer in the United States, though he never made a name for himself the same way as Ansel Adam’s his photographs paved the way for the national park service. His some 30k+ photographs can be found in most of our national parks in the United States as well as many book publications. He would often catch the people in the parks as well as the nature around. Though his photographs did not carry with them the same weight or value as Ansel Adam’s they are often mistaken for his works. He was the first national park service photographer. Many of George’s works are not identified due to the fact that they are not signed, just stamped property of the National Park Service. With that I give you the chance to own some of his original photos from his early career in the 1930s. These are signed and they came from an estate sale years ago in Carlisle PA. The lady at the sale told me that they came from Grants personal collection and that her aunt was the woman in the picture with the canoe. It will be the first photograph of the 25. The personal portraits and negatives came from a different sale and are from his time as a professor at Penn-state university. You will receive the photographs in the picture as well as the book. There are 23 5x7 2 6.5x8.5 2 2 7x9.5 portraits of him older 2 4.5x6 portraits and negatives of him from when he was a college professor. And of course his book landscapes for the people.
