To have someone actually appraise this will cost $$$ thousands of dollars, which I do not have. My price is high so I don't sell it for too low of a price. Please feel free to make me an offer.
Please see that Antique Wood items can sell for ($100,000)

...and these prices are just for the wood alone!! They don't include very old artwork!!
9/9/2012--Material looks as if it is cloth or fabric of some kind. There is no way to remove the glass or mirror to see behind the picture without damaging the box. There are "dot-like" areas, but theyappear to be on the material--looks like raised squared areas on the material (see photos).9/11/2012--Showed it to a man in town that owns a Art Store. He said he thought it was an etching. Jean Antione Watteau (1684-1721)Watteau, the son of a roofer, left Valenciennes for Paris about 1702 to work there as a copyist and assistant to Claude Gillot (1673–1722) and Claude III Audrun (1658–1734). He became interested in theater and fell under the spell of Peter Paul Rubens (1577–1640). In 1709, he returned to Valenciennes but no later than 1712 had settled in Paris and presented himself to the Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture for admission. Exceptionally, he was immediately invited to submit his reception piece. This he completed only in 1717: it was titled "le pélerinage à Lisle de Citere," or "Pilgrimage to the Island of Cythera" (Musée du Louvre, Paris), but then the title was crossed out and replaced in the Académie records with the term feste galante, which can be described as a subgenre of Watteau's invention, in which he depicted elegant people amusing themselves in bucolic outdoor settings. Watteau was in London in 1717; back in Paris by 1720, and seriously ill, he moved to the country, where he died of tuberculosis in 1721.[link removed by ][link removed by ]

5.65" widex 7.65"long ARTWORK(keep in mind it may be slightly larger under the glass)

Condition: Excellent for age! Artwork is under glass and looks in very good condition, but I still need to do further research to make sure it is a drawing and not a print. At the very top of the box where the hindge mechanism is, the nails have cut into the wood. Some of the finish has worn off. Some light scratches. Some wear on the top areas of the box.
