For Sale here is the copyright to all shown writing. PublisherPeter T. Reynolds1 Lever StreetHazel groveStockport SK74ENUnited Kingdom(business details and contact info below, editor Kim Rathbone)Owners of copyright and to whom licensing enquiries should be addressed.Included in this sale is a 4 page dossier outlining the context of the painting in respect of its association with the site of William\'s castle and the Roman fort at Hastings...called \'Hay saat ea ynaghana\' from which we contest the name \'Hastings\' derived. This is a watercolor showing JMW Turner and his father in a boat in front of William\'s Motte and castle from 1066 built on the prior site of a Roman fort - its horizontal wall being also seen in a print by Grose of 1776, of the site as viewed from the castle. One can see the steps of the ruins of the lighthouse as seen in the Bayeux Tapestry integral to the ruin. The boat is floating in a lagoon in which William landed his horses on the 28th September 1066.This information has been derived for the first time in a 1000 years by virtue of the precise painting and drawing of Joseph Farington of which this painting is a fine example. The information in this painting, including the existence of tidal lagoons on the beach at Hastings as would have existed in 1066 and in which William could land , William\'s Motte, of his castle built upon the ruins of a pre-existing Roman fort as corresponds to a print from Grose 1776 and the existence of Lime Kilns on the headland behind the houses shown, as used by the Romans to produce concrete for the fort footings as shown here for the first time and the ruins of the steps of the lighthouse are all visible for the first time in a 1000 years - was used to reconstruct William\'s invasion as it happened for the first time in a 1000 years.
