Watercolor here is in the Femlin outline, mans face & shirt. Wonderful Neiman Classic !! A real find !!!

My father was the original pastry vendor to the "very first" Playboy Club/s/ and as a result of that relationship acquired many of these Femlin's and some Acrylics. The opening GM (Arnie Morton, who went on to develop Morton's Steakhouse and whose son Peter, the founder of Hard Rock) for the Chicago Club was a dear friend of my dad and wanted dads desserts in the Clubs as Hefner wanted the very best of everything. Dad owned and operated a highly successful South Side Chicago landmark restaurant for years in Beverly, The Surrey Restaurant Many dignitaries dined there including Mayor Daley, LeRoy Neiman, Hugh Hefner, Senator Everett Dirksen, amongst others. Dad was considered to be the inventor of the salad bar (1949) as he saw it as a way to take the stress off the kitchen (everyone seem to want more of one thing and less of another on their salad) and produce in that era was considered a throw away item i.e. the more lettuce you ate the less steak you wanted as an over simplifiedtheory ... and by (honestly) mistake, it promoted tremendous price/value to his customers. The salad bar was in place till he closed in late 1972. When he died in 1992, the Chicago Tribune featured him in their paper as the inventor of the salad bar. The crowds were so big from his tremendous customer base, hiswake lasted for 3 days. His father, Dr. John F. Ruzic was the Chief of Staff at Holy Cross Hospital for 52 years and literally built Maria High School (raising the money) behind the hospital, operated by the Sisters of St. Casimir as they were deeply affiliated with Holy Cross Hospital (in 1954, the Pope bestowed upon Dr. Ruzic the title of a Knight of St. Gregory for performing emergency surgery in Yugoslavia on their Spiritual Leader there as he had a blood disease, at the request of President Truman and The Pope - Pius XII). Without getting into my own background ... this is an amazing family history.
Dad also owned and operated the Parquette Diner across the street, as he actually bought the diner to gain more parking for The Surrey, for their booming banquet business at the time. That 24/7 diner I do believe was his biggest regret !
I've met all the dealers, sales, gallery owners, brokers, etc ... and I know what these pieces bring in well located Galleries in New York, London, San Francisco, etc ... and I also know what they bring at sale. I'm only looking to get sale prices in most examples. I have some prize pieces which I won't budge on, for all the obvious reasons.
This is a fair sale price and a steal for what they are priced for in a Gallery. This piece could go for $5,000 to $20,000+ in a prime Gallery location as art has the same markup as jewelry.
These were on display at Tim DeWine's Gallery in Chicago and were meeting with great success until his untimely death. Tim looked at each one of these and certified them to be the real deal. Tim was the # 1 LeRoy Neiman salesperson worldwide for 17 consecutive years !! He issued COA's on each one that he sold. He was starting the completion of all COA's for every piece when he suddenly died.
Shipping quote is to the lower US 48 however I can ship worldwide through the System. If the piece is going to the NE US i.e. New York etc ... There will be a surcharge of up to $25 to $100 (depending on the piece) additional, due to what FedEx passes on to me. Shipping to New England is incredibly expensive. All overseas shipments, handles that through their Global Shipping Network and I do not control that pricing, I ship to their distributioncenter in KY per their international shipping requirements.
Shipping is high due to insurance and signature confirmation. I only use FedEx. In over 1,000 shipments, I've had 4 claims. FedEx settles like clock work. Shipments most times have to be separate as FedEx only insures art to $1,000. Everything is shipped out of the Tampa Bay area and must be personally signed for (insurance requirement). All items are professionally packed by pro's. Some pieces are located in the Chicago area ... the listing will tell you that.
You can't get a better deal than this. Please feel free to contact me through the system for additional information. Most of the Femlin's come from the mid 1960's through the early 1980's ,,, to the best of my knowledge. 99% of the provenance of these items are from my family (dad).
