Rare W.D. Clement Watchmaker Lathe + 100s of Accessories:

This is an incredibly rare W.D. Clement Watchmaker's "Disappearing Bed"Swinging-Bed Lathe, circa 1927-1930. This is the motorized version, though the motor doesn't turn when I tested it. Serial # 715. The bed is about 15-1/2" long.
This was bought and used by my grandfather in the 1930s and has stayed in the family ever since.Even more unique and rare than the lathe itself are the four custom wooden drawers full of Collets, Chucks, rests and other tools as shown. About half the collets are 10mm and the other half are 6mm.
Many are numbered with sizes and fit into numbered holes in what was likely the factory-supplied wood holders. A spot-check found "W.D. Clement" stamped on many of the accessories. There's also a number of brochures, instruction sheets, drawings, etc.
The lathe is mounted on a period steel base. It does not have items like a lamp, power cords, etc. Just what's in the photos.

Because the lathe is heavy and comes with the incredible drawers full of accessories, it is only sold for local pickup in the Washington, DC area. I may be able to deliver it within some driving distance of the D.C. region for an additional fee. If you have some freight solution, please let me know. I'm guessing to have a company securely pack and ship everything could cost about $1000.
