No-Carve Halloween Pumpkin Ideas for Kids
Do sharp knives and piles of ooey, gooey pumpkin seeds sound unappealing to you? If you don’t want to carve pumpkins this year, you can still decorate these traditional Halloween decorations. Check out these no-carve options for your holiday pumpkin décor. These playful projects are perfect if you’re short on time or have young children who can’t carve their pumpkins.
You’ll find no shortage of beloved character kits in stores and online. If you don’t want to go with a kit, make your own character pumpkin. Simply print out a page that features your kiddo’s favorite cartoon, movie or book character, cut out the picture and glue it to the front of the pumpkin.
Place plenty of newspaper or a garbage bag on your work surface and coat the pumpkin with clear-drying school glue. Before the glue dries, sprinkle glitter on top. Shake off the excess and let it dry before you display the sparkling pumpkin. If your child wants to add extra color, paint the pumpkin first. They can either sprinkle glitter on the wet paint or wait for it to dry before they apply the glue.
Forget about knives with this project. Cut triangle eyes, an oval nose and toothless grin from black craft felt. Glue the felt to the pumpkin to create a jack o’ lantern-like face.
