4 Bracelet Ideas for World Friendship Day
What better way to celebrate World Friendship Day than with a friendship bracelet! The holiday, which falls on July 30th, is a global way to recognize friends everywhere. Help your child to show appreciation for their BFFs with one of these crafty creations!
Popsicle Stick Bracelets
Place wide craft sticks into a shallow pan of water. Let the water boil. Do not allow your child to do this part. Leave the sticks in the hot water (turn the heat off) for 15 minutes. Use tongs to remove the sticks. Allow the sticks to cool slightly and bend them around mason jars. Wait for 12 hours (or overnight) and remove the sticks. Decorate the stick bracelets with duct tape, markers, or paint.
Use embroidery floss, leather strips, or lanyard thread to create braided bracelets. Start with three pieces/strips or use more to create a rainbow-hued design.
Fishtail Pattern Bracelets
If your child is the crafty type, try a fishtail braid instead of the traditional type. Use two colors of yarn, leather, or lanyard thread (rubber-like material) for these bracelets.
Thread colorful beads onto yarn, knotting the ends (so the beads don’t roll off). Create patterns with bead colors, shapes, and sizes!
