Inauguration Day Dessert Recipe Ideas
Celebrate the new president with an Inauguration Day meal! Even though your at-home buffet may not look like the spread at the White House, your family can whip up a few few foods to mark this special day in America’s history. And bonus—the kids can help you to put together some of these easy dessert recipes.
White Chocolate House Cupcakes
Bake a batch of your favorite white cake cupcakes. Top the cakes with white frosting and white chocolate shavings. Ask your kiddo to arrange the cupcakes in a White Shape on a large serving tray or your dining room/kitchen table.
Red, White and Blueberry Parfaits
Create a patriotic fruit treat with sliced strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, sponge cake and whipped topping. Crumble ready-made sponge cake into the bottom of a tall, clear glass. Add a layer of red and blue berries. Spoon whipped topping onto the berry layer. Repeat the steps (starting with the sponge cake) until you get to the top of the glass.
American Flag Cookie Cake
Bake a batch of sugar cookies. After the cookies cool completely, have your child line them up on a wax paper-covered tray, creating a rectangle. Use red, white and blue icing to draw the stars and stripes across the cookie rectangle. The end result is a pull-apart cookie cake the whole family can share!
