Last-Minute Mother’s Day Ideas
Mother’s Day is almost here. And the kids haven’t exactly prepared a five-course meal for mom. They also haven’t found the perfect present or done anything else — that is yet. It’s okay that the kids procrastinated. Their lack of prep is more a function of their ages than what they think about mom. After all, they love mom and only want the best for her. Kid-Created Spa
So you forgot to pick up a gift certificate for mom to take a trip to the local spa? Instead of going out, mom can stay in and enjoy a spa that your family creates for her. The kids can make a soothing sugar scrub from cane sugar and coconut oil or give mom a face masque of yogurt and blended cucumbers.
Portrait Studio
Set up an in-home portrait studio. Your child can help mom make memories on this special day by drawing her portrait. Use an easel (or paper on a table, if you don’t have an easel) and ask your child to draw mom’s picture as she sits for the portrait.
Mom’s Meal
What is mom’s favorite meal? No, not what mom enjoys cooking for everyone else or what mom will agree to eat just because everyone else likes it. Ask mom what she truly wants to eat. Take the kids shopping and cook it for her. The kids can set the table and create crafty placemats or place cards for the entire family.
