Universal Children’s Day Activities
November 20th marks Universal Children’s Day. This day marks a celebration of children’s rights — globally. How can make this day special for your child? Check out these Universal Children’s Day activity ideas.
Learn About Another Culture
This holiday is a global event. Help your child to understand what life is like for children around the world by learning about different cultures. Specifically, learn about what children do for fun, wear every day or do at school. Search online for information or read books about other areas of the globe.
Bring out the paints, crayons, markers, colored pencils and anything else that encourages your child to create. Start out with a prompt, asking your child to choose an idea or activity that they read about when researching what children do in other areas of the world. Your child can then create a painting, drawing, mural or collage to celebrate this special day.
What do children eat in other cultures or other areas of the world? After researching this subject, choose an easy-to-make recipe and get cooking — together! Make a dessert, snack or an entire meal for the whole family to enjoy. Add to the meal by playing music from the other culture/country as your family eats together.
