This is a Fantastic Collection ofWright Brothers Centennial of Flight 1903-2003 boxed collectible including large coins or Medallions , lapel or hat pins, and authentic photographs ready for framing and hanging in a collectors room or even an aviation museum, as they are definitely quality!!
The box is wooden (solid), cherry colored. It measures 17 1/2 x 14 1/2 x 3 inches. This set weighs 10 pounds and 14 ounces!!Hinged lid with felt embroidered inside cover.
Through the lid, is one of the Four Coin Medallions, mounted so you can see both sides through the lid of the box. Inside are the three additional \"coins\" or Medallions. Not sure what they are made of. One is most likely bronze, others are silver and rose goldish in color. They measure 3 inches x 1/4 inch each, and on the edge of each one, is engraved as follows: S34 (weighs 5.8 oz); S42(weighs 6.2 oz); and S41(weighs 6 oz). The one in the lid I did not remove, but I\'m sure its along the same lines. These have been tested and are NOT gold or silver metal. I do not know what they are. My research (as well as others helping me) was unable to discover their origin ie: metal.For the photographs, all are in black and white. There is the introduction photo, Wright Brothers 100th Anniversary of Flight, and toward the back, is the certificate of authenticity and the overview. Each of these are in a viewable plastic covering, protecting them in this box, so you can easily flip through the images. These photos measure approximately 15 1/4 x 11 1/4 inches each.There are Eleven sets of wonderful photos, each set has a photo description, which is also farmable, and could definitely be displayed with the matching photo.
