From the world largest collection of anything Yousuf Karsh, is this famous Winston Churchill “The Roaring Lion” by world renowned portrait photographer Mr. Yousuf Karsh. The famous story as to how Mr. Karsh removed the cigar from Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

This is a semi sepia silver gelatin print, meaning the print has been tone with gold or brown toner, to make the print look slightly brown color, not completely black and white. This photograph is semi cropped not completely cropped, sometime in 1945 the famous Churchill negative the upper top part got damage and Karsh decided to crop out the damage area, I have posted the fully cropped and semi cropped and un crop for comparison, please refer to picture posted, this photograph can only be make in 1945 between the un cropped and the fully cropped Churchill, only a small amount of this photograph in size 8x10 were made, because photograph paper were expensive, not until later 50s 11x14 or larger size start to appear, this photograph has been examined out of the frame by me and confirmed to be in 95% condition, photograph is dry mounted years ago on to a piece of board, the verso is blank without any copyrighted stamp, due to dry mounted, I can 100% sure you if the dry mounting is remove there will be copyrighted stamp on back of photograph, with no discolouration, very very light emotion surface cracks, the cracks are only on the top surface of the print and not crack through to the back and no other surface marks of any kind, please refer to picture with red highlight.

Signed by Yousuf Karsh at bottom left in the margin, does not have copyrighted stamp on front right by using sandwich negative technique. Please refer to all pictures posted.
