This Genuine Herkimer Diamond Druze Specimen was hand dug at the Ace of Diamonds Mine in Middleville, NY in 2011, and comes from a limited find. Specimens of this caliber have not beenfound since, and only a few had been found in decades prior. This specimen has one repair, you can only tell from the bottom, and barely so there. One small branch was reconnected to the main plate,it'sliterally impossible to tell from the top and sides. No significant damage, only a couple striations of where a small stone detached and was not recovered. These spots are impossible to see whenyou arelooking at the specimen most of the time. You really have to examine the specimen close up to see the very few "issues" it has. It is over 99% flawless which is a miracle,and istruly a museum grade specimen for the highest level collector.
This Herkimer Diamond BLACK Druze specimen is of a size and quality that is rarely achieved. Specimens like this are all tucked away inmuseums or private collections. There are over a hundred large sized "perchers" that are aesthetically positioned all over this large BLACK druze plate that is also fully coated in smaller Herkimer Diamond druze growth. The specimen hails the name "TheTurtle" due to its growth structure resembling a Turtle.
I cant say enough about this specimen, I wills ay that the camera can notcaptureit in its full glory. Theis aMuseumGrade specimen, all day long.
