Past of the Close Helmet :-

The Close Helmet was also referred to as the Closed Helm. It was a military piece often used by knights, as well as other men at arms during the Late Medieval and early Renaissance period. Sometimes, the Close Helmet was also utilized by heavily armored cuirassiers who were armed with pistols. This was around the mid-17th century. During this period, the helm appeared as a fully enclosed piece with a revolving visor and a basic bevor.

As time passed, the Close Helmet was developed and crafted from the later types of sallets. With its appearance, it looked quite similar to the armet that was popular during the 15th century. There are some modern resources that defined or referred to the Close Helmet as an armet; however, numerous scholars have created a clear distinction between these two types.
