In 1937 William Klemm and Herbert Ellmann founded the company Klemm & Ellmann (with the K & E logo in the candle holder) and introduced varnish painting with spirit varnishes in the Olbernhau area. Jens Ellmann successfully completed his master craftsman training in 1990 and continues the historical, traditional products of his predecessors.
