Original coffin Flag for General Thomas Jefferson Henderson, Commander of the 112th Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry The Flag has several condition issues (see photos). At the time of his death in 1911, Arizona was set to become the 47th state but was delayed due to a state recall concerning their constitution. Arizona and New Mexico were admitted in 1912, Thus there never was an official 47 star Flag. On the white border is the name Mrs Skinner Euclid Ave in pencil. Also included is a copy of his funeral program, a biography for Henderson, a book on the 112th, and a pension claim signed twice by Henderson. The stars look to be hand sewn. It measures 92" by 46". The Flag has been handed down through General Hendersons descendants. Many of his other possessions including his military trunk of which the Flag was stored in are located in a museum in Princeton Illinois. Please check out my other items on . Thank you for looking.
