Fountain Pen on a Montblanc 149 Body

For sale is onenew-old-stockpen from my personal collection:Lambrou/Classic Pens LS10 Inochi (Life) #00 of 15 (actually 1 of 1) Hand Painted Maki-E Fountain Pen on a Montblanc 149 Pen Body by Master Maki-E Artist Shogetsu Mitani.

This is a RARE and BEAUTIFUL Handcrafted Fountain Pen PROTOTYPE Number 00 of just 15 Art Pens Produced!

Further - This Prototype Pen is crafted on a MONTBLANC 149 Pen Body (the largest pen body Montblanc makes) so it really is just 1 of 1 to my knowledge!!!

What Andy Lambrou, President of Classic Pens says about Inochi (from his website):

“The LS 10 Inochi (Life) was launched in 2004. It was inspired by the Oak tree, a symbol of strength, the green leaves represent dignity, integrity and honor. Its green leaves and golden acorns also represent a new season in the forest, a new beginning in life. Indeed, Inochi in Japanese means Life.”

“The Inochi is a three dimensional composition. Its background is raised and textured in pastel shades of brown and reflects the bark of the Oak tree. The pen body is decorated with golden acorns and green oak leaves. The consummately executed design shows incredible detail of the high relief acorns and green leaves, down to the minute details of the textured bark. This textured background, to our knowledge is novel for a fountain pen.”

The Inochi brings to life the raised golden acorns and green oak leaves

as well as the highly textured bark of the tree. The Inochi inspired by the Oak tree, a symbol of strength, dignity, integrity and honor. The Maki-E techniques on the Inochi composition are Togidashi, Taka (raised) and the texturing of the pen body.

“The Maki-E artist is Shogetsu Mitani. He is famous for his art on various Japanese objects including tea containers. Some of his creations have been purchased by the Japanese government to be used for ceremonial occasions.”

Mine is totally unique! It is painted on a Montblanc 149 (i.e. the largest pen body that Montblanc makes also known as the “Diplomat”) and is a Prototype, Numbered 00. Additionally, it is marked “AL” which I believe means it was Andy Lambrou's, President of Classic Pens personal prototype pen made for him!!!

“All LS designs carry the Red Seal signature of the creating artist. The Inochi, bears the prestigious Red Seal signature of the artist of Shogetsu Mitani. He also paints the individual limited edition number of the pen on the barrel end.”

“The LS10 Inochi is completely handcrafted with natural precious materials. All pieces in the series conform to the same poetic theme, but each differs just enough from the others to be truly a distinctive work of Art.”
