1963 President John F. Kennedy Inscribed & Signed Baseball to Tony Kubek with Player Provenance.
In an incredible link between the Bronx Bombers and Camelot, comes the offered Official American League (Cronin) baseball which is inscribed (on side panel) "To Tony" [Kubek] and signed (across the sweet spot) by the thirty-fifth President of the United States in blue ink.
In his 2024 typed signed letter of provenance on his personal letterhead, the four-time All-Star and three-time World Series champion New York Yankee describes the circumstances by which he acquired this treasured artefact.
"This letter accompanies a President John F. Kennedy single signed baseball which is inscribed to me.
During 1963 Spring Training in Florida, along with Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra and White Ford, I was invited to a day at the Kennedy compound in Florida. We headed there following a Spring Training game; we were all in our uniforms!
President Kennedy's father, Joseph Kennedy, was a big Yankees fan and was recovering from a stroke. We met with him and with his niece. When I inquired why I was invited along with Mickey, Yogi and Whitey, the President's father stated that it was because I was his favorite player! President Kennedy was not there that day. A member of the Secret Service was kind enough to arrange for President Kennedy to send us signed baseballs. About a week later, I received my ball signed by the President!
I have had this baseball in my collection since that time, about 61 years!"
The ball was shellacked to preserve the autograph. There are some chips in the shellack which affect part of the inscription but the signature is clean. Comes with Letter of provenance from Tony Kubek and full letter LOA from PSA/DNA.D#A2
