July 4th Party Decor Kids Can Craft
How can you dress up your family’s July Fourth backyard bash? With a few crafty kid created art activities! Learn how your children can create their own red, white and blue or flag-inspired holiday party décor with these easy artsy ideas.
Welcome your friends and family with a festive handmade banner. Start with an old twin-sized bedsheet or a long length of butcher paper/plain gift wrap. Pour three pools of tempera paint into paper plates or on top of cardboard—one red, one white and one blue. Your child can use a paint brush to write “Happy July 4th” on the banner. Next, have them dip their hands into the paint to print a red, white and blue design around the holiday greeting.
What’s on the menu for your Fourth family picnic? Have the kiddos craft their own menus to hand out to your guests. Use 8×10-inch white card stock paper as a menu base. Give your kids red and blue markers, crayons or colored pencils to write out the main menu items. Add red, silver, and blue metallic star stickers or glitter and glue to dress up the menu.
Cut red, white and blue tissue paper into circles. Stack the tissue and pinch it at the center. Wrap the end of a green pipe cleaner around the center part of the tissue and fluff the faux flower petals.
