July 4th Party Games and Activities for Kids
You’re planning a July 4th party, picnic or BBQ. You’ve got the menu under control. But, what about the kids? You need games, crafts or something to keep them busy and entertained. Check out these fun-filled kids’ activities that are sure to be a hit at your next Independence Day bash.
Turn your yard into a pint-sized obstacle course. Set up and army crawl on ground, make a land slalom course that the kids have to run through or add a water feature (such as a wading pool to crawl through). Divide the kids into teams, have them race and hand out awards at the finish line. Make your own silly awards such as best crawler, or give small toy/candy prizes.
Hold a backyard baseball (or another sport) game. Make it extra fun by pitting adults against kids. Get into the sporting spirit and assign team colors – one can be red and white and the other can be blue and white, for the holiday.
You don’t need to organize a step-by-step craft that requires all the kids to sit at the same time. Instead, put out red, white and blue craft foam (to make patriotic bookmarks) or markers and paper (to draw flags) for the kids to use whenever they want.
