Acclaimed American stage actor, Confederate sympathizer and Lincoln's assassin JOHN WILKES BOOTH scarce, authentic original playbill for a May 3, 1864 performance by Booth as "Romeo" in ROMEO AND JULIET at the Boston Museum. The playbill prominently features Booth's name in unmistakable bold text. Less than one year after this performance Booth assassinated Abraham Lincoln on the night of April 14, 1865.

Typically, these playbills were printed on lightweightpaper stock with very few surviving examples.

The only other known ROMEO AND JULIET handbill we can find can be found on the John Wilkes Booth wiki page (from the famed Harvard Library Collection).

Slightly trimmed overall to appx. 4.5" x 12.5", float-mounted and archivally mounted and framed to 12" x 24" overall with bone white and gold double mat over acid-free backer under 98% UV-BLOCKING museum-grade non-glare heavyweight acrylic pane.
