Memorial Day Red, White and Blue Art for Kids
Celebrate Memorial Day with a few creative red, white and blue crafts for the kids! Your child can show their artistic side with these holiday projects.
Red, White and Blue Paint Print
Pour red, white and blue tempera or finger paints into separate paper plates (or use scrap cardboard). Help your child to dip their hand in the first paint color. Coat their entire palm and fingers with paint. Press their hand onto a large piece of poster board or a plain white bed sheet. Repeat with the other two colors. Create a flag design, make a pattern or just let them design their own abstract piece of art in patriotic hues.
Patriotic Paper Collage
Gather red, white and blue papers. Use construction paper, tissue, metallic craft papers or anything else you have available. Cut or tear the papers into smaller pieces. Give your child a piece of cardboard to use as a base for their collage art project. They can glue the papers onto the board, overlapping the edges and creating a colorful collage.
Finger Paint Flag
Use leftover paint from the red, white and blue handprint project to create a finger paint flag. Start with a rectangle-shaped piece of construction or card stock paper. Your child can add red and white stripes and blue star-filled space with the tempera.
