Kids’ Christmas Ornament Crafts
You’ve got your Christmas tree, and now it’s time to decorate it! Instead of buying all of your ornaments, try some DIY kids-created ones too. These Christmas crafts for kids are easy ornaments to make. So, get creative and help your kiddo to dress the tree with her own artsy inventions.
Start with a piece of red paper (letter-sized). Your child can draw a wavy circle on the paper. The bigger the circle, the bigger the flower. Starting at the outer edge, cut a spiral shape. Roll the paper into a flower shape. Beginning at the center, wind the paper around itself. Glue the center pieces together. Keep winding the paper around (in a circle motion), until your child has used all of it. Glue the end of the paper onto the outside of the flower. Punch a hole at the top of the flower and thread a piece of green yarn through. Your child can also dip the edges in glue and sprinkle glitter on.
Faux Snow Globes
Cut a circle out of light blue card stock paper. Your child can draw a winter scene on the paper with crayons or markers. Paint a layer of clear-drying glue over the drawing. Sprinkle opal-colored glitter on top (your child should only use enough to look like falling snow—and not cover the entire picture). Punch a hole at the top and thread a thin ribbon through as a hanger.
Give your child a paintbrush and clear-drying school glue. She can paint the glue on pinecones (it will most likely only stick to the edges). Sprinkle glitter on the glue. Tie fishing line to the top of the pinecone. Make a loop at the other end to hang the pinecone ornaments on the tree.
