For sale is a sensational original albumen print by the famous Felice Beato (1832-1909). The photo is 22 x 28,5 cm and it is pasted onto a contemporary card 25,5 x 33,6 cm. The caption on the bottom of the card is in contemporary ink and reads: 'Samourai Court of Japan'. It is in verygood condition and may well be one of a kind.The photograph is published in Terry Bennett's book "Photography in Japan 1853-1912" on page 13. It was purchased from the author in 2006.
