1850 1872 Original Utah Indian War Veteran Medal of Alma Durfey. Reference the photographs for his full biography. Alma was a good father and was loved by all who knew him. While working at the Palmyra Utah government store a band of Indians led by Black Hawk broke in. On horse Alma went after the Indians and hit Black Hawk over the head with a brass bucket from the head of the saddle. He was able to retrieve all the things the Indians had stolen and returned the items to the store.
