1890’s John Mitchell Jr cabinet card. Published by the Jefferson Art Gallery of Richmond Virginia. The studio was owned by freed slave James Conway Farley. John Mitchell Jr was an early civil rights activist based out of Richmond. He was also a politician. Mitchell served as a Richmond alderman and also came in third place when he ran for governor of Virginia. Card is a little less than 5 by 7 inch. Stains, toning and wear. Feel free to ask questions.
