Item up for sale is the original April 16th 1984, edition of the New York Daily news newspaper; Paper is almost complete with 70 pages ( including 8 page insert ) of the original 72 pages being sold; the lead story of the day came from New York's most crime ridden precinct, East New York's, the 75th Precinct, which annually topped 100 homicides in the 1980's. But, in 1984 on Palm Sunday, no less, the Precinct would achieve infamy when 10 people were slaughtered, woman and children were among the dead. Police would respond to 1080 Liberty Avenue on a radio run of " shots fired " upon their arrival they would enter the home and would see the television still playing, and would see two young woman gunned down amid 8 children, also brutally murdered. A week later the investigation would center on a local cocaine addict who had reportedly purchased drugs from the home owner. He would avoid murder charges and instead be found guilty of 10 counts of 1rst degree Manslaughter. A solitary infant would escape the carnage.
