Amon G. Carter (1879-1955) was a prominent American newspaper publisher, businessman, and philanthropist.

leaving a lasting legacy in Fort Worth.
Amon G. Carter Sr. had a notable connection to belt buckles through his promotional efforts. He used belt buckles as a marketing
tool to promote his Fort Worth Star-Telegram newspaper and the city of Fort Worth. He distributed large, ornate belt buckles featuring
the newspaper's logo to politicians, celebrities, and military personnel. These distinctive belt buckles became iconic symbols of

Here is an extremely rare pre WWII Amon Carter engraved belt buckle with rubies and 10k gold floral overlays and 10k gold rope
edge. The buckle is dated July 4th, 1938 and was presented to Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame member, Frank Rhoades.
65 years later this belt buckle is in pristine condition and was never worn or used. It looks brand new.

It's a classic 1 3/16" tapered to 1" and fits a 36 pants size, marked 38. (38" to the middle hole)
