AGE OR ERA:Original true vintage pieces - circa 1970's
MARKINGS: There are several very very small stampings on the brooch hardware - completely illegible and elusive to me. I can't find any other markings anywhere on either piece
METAL/MATERIAL:Solid 18k yellow gold - 750 / 1000 fineness - 18k white gold pin hardware, and very fine quality exotic rose wood
CLASP / CLOSURE: Custom manual push in / pull out sliding tube closure that was designed to hold only one of the brooch prongs. When you release the pull tube it frees the stick pin portion and allows you to flip the double prong mechanism into itsfixed or predetermined open position. You will then press to guide the hardware back to itsclosed position and push in the catch to re-secure. If it were me - I would find a little silicone earring back or similar to place on the exposed pointed prong as a pin guard if I were going to wear the brooch to avoid damage to clothing or ones body.
MEASUREMENTS: The face of the brooch is roughly 2" x 2 1/2" and has a rise or profile around 3/4" tall or high. The ring face is about 1 1/4" x 1", has a rise of about 1/2" and the band tapers to 2.5 mm in the very back. The velvet bags measure 3 1/2" tall and 2 1/4" tall.
WEIGHT: The brooch / fur clip combination piece weighs 19.2 grams on my scale and the ring 8.9 grams for total combined weight or aprox 28.1 grams
TESTING: Multiple gold parts, components, and areas tested on each piece (with a method that analyzes without marking, marring, or damaging jewelry in any way, of course) - they all strongly test to be solid 18k gold in metal content

CONDITION: Great vintage condition - no major damage to note. The pin / fur clip combination piece hinge, pin and catch are all in good working order. The ring has a line from previous sizing that can be seen mainly from the inside back. The outside back of the ring exhibits some minor rough finish texture or scuffing - it may be from wear and use, a by-product of sizing or an original part of the design. It is very hard to tell for certain and is not really glaring or distracting in anyway and also would be easily smoothed by a reputable jeweler, if you felt the need. See last picture. This is a rare and fantastic set in an excellent state of preservation all around.
