DescriptionI am pleased to offer from my private collection this important historical antique Imperial Russian Faberge 18k solid gold award ring with surprise gold plated Easter Egg display presentation box ,St.Petersburg,c1880's.
This ring has been awarded personally by Empress Maria Feodorovna(the mother of Tsar Nicholas II) to her Maid of Honor Maria Viktorovna Baryatinskaya (1859-1942).
The ring comes from Baryatinskaya's family estate.
The ring is decorated with a natural Sea Pearl and with approx 4.2ct top quality Old Mine cut Diamonds.
The Diamonds are with the finest snow white E/F color. The clarity vary from VVS1 to SI2.
A lot of sparkles.
The sparkle of old cut diamonds is deeper and warmer, almost glowing in a way that draws the eye into the stone instead of bouncing the light back out. This makes old cut diamonds star performers in candlelight and other low light settings.
The ring is signed with the Imperial Russian 72 gold hallmark for 18k and with KF hallmark in Russian for Carl Faberge.
