Siani, his mother and his three brothers immigrated to Israel in 1949, after his father, who was a cobbler and known as a shoe designer, died in Yemen. After various incarnations, he found his way to the youth village of Meir Shafia by Zichron Ya'akov, a place where his older brother Shimon, who later also became a painter and a theater person, had already studied. Soon his outstanding talent in painting was discovered and he won the support of his educators and teachers who encouraged him to dedicate himself to painting. At a young age he began to present solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions. At first he chose the channel between expressionism and impressionism, as he discovered a kinship with the famous Jewish painter from the Jewish school in Paris, Chaim Sutin. Soutine's influence benefited him in his formative years. His talent was also supported by his painter teachers Marcel Yanko, Moshe Mokdi, Zvi Meirowitz, Yaakov Agam and Prof. Yosef Schwarzman.
