Madame Chiang Kai Shek Chinese Historical Friendship Ring 1940's, Soong May-ling:
Madame Chiang Kai Shek Historical Friendship Ring from 1940's Era. Condition is very good.
This ring was given to my father's mother, sometime in the 1940's to 50's. I don't know who gave it to my father's parents. From what I have read, the Emperor's wife was very active in politics. She married Chiang Kai Shek in 1929. He died in 1975, then she moved to the U.S. and lived there til 2003 when she passed at the age of 105. She came to America numerous times promoting the friendship with the United States during the Sino Japanese War. My father said this was a Friendship Ring given for appreciation. There must be a connection between my dad's parents and someone who had associated with Madame Chiang Kai Shek.
The ring is Sterling with a carved red stone or coral. I'm not sure of the make-up of the red stone inscribed with the design and writing. Now, for someone who could translate the inscription in red on top and the center stamped mark on the back, I would bet that it could be linked to Chiang Kai Shek. So, for someone with knowledge about gifts made to Americans by the Madame, the ring should speak for itself through it's markings.
The carved area is in excellent condition. The Sterling rings design on the sides has two spots where it looks pushed in a bit. The bottom of the ring, where the silver meets for adjustment, was cleaned looking for markings. The red carved area is 5/8"L x 1/2"W.
Shipped with USPS Priority Mail and with insurance pictures taken. See photos. Thanks.
