Antique eagle sculpture Roman Bronze Works, NYC. Artist: sculpted by Bela Lyon Pratt, approximately 1911 dateline, you can see the artist initials “ B L P” between the two claws. VERY VERY RARE, VIRTUALLY ONE OF A KIND, AN EXTRAORDINARY PIECE OF EARLY AUTOMOTIVE HISTORY!!!!!! THE VALUE WILL ONLY INCREASE, AS WILL MY ASKING PRICE, AS TIME MOVES FORWARD……I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANOTHER THIS SIZE, WHICH SUCH DETAIL AND HISTORY COMBINED!!!!!!!!!The National Highway Association had three offices: New York City, Washington D.C., and in South Yarmouth (Cape Cod), Massachusetts. My stepfather bought this in the early 70’s for his house he built in 1971, located in Brewster (Cape Cod), Massachusetts (two towns over from South Yarmouth, Massachusetts). My stepfather was always hunting for pieces of local history as one of his hobbies, I personally remember the day he brought it to the house. This piece most likely originated from the South Yarmouth, Massachusetts National Highway Association office location, making it a very rare piece, with history, and location to help validate it. The NHA was very active in the 1930’s. Possible Flagpole/weathervane top???
