From 1847 to 1874 approximately 125,000 Chinese laborers were imported to Cuba. The abolition of slavery created an entirely new and very profitable business, once again dominated by the British and Portuguese. The former ran the actual business while the Portuguese with their colony in Macau, China supplied the people.Dimensions : 10 1/2\" x 15 13/16\". Condition is very fine with a few tiny worm holes almost un-noticable. Fold lines with some light handling. A very light 1/2\" crack on the front center right fold edge. Condition isconsistent with its 163 years.
