Rare Archibald Knox 0287 "Tudric" Shamrock Bowl with Moorcroft "Wisteria" Insert:
$1135.00
We are moving and downsizing. It is with some sadness we have decided that it is time to part with some of our most treasured and beautiful art nouveau pieces. From our personal collection we are pleased to offerthis rare variant of the Archibald Knox 0287 "Tudric" "Shamrock" bowl. This is a two handled dish with stylized cut out handles in a hear shape with a pierced surround of shamrocks and a welled interior. What makes is stand apart is that the interior contains a circular insert in the "Wisteria" pattern made by the Moorcroft pottery company Stamped "Made in England" "Tudric Pewter 0287" and the name of the store for whom it was mad "B. Altman & Co."
The bowl is featured on pp. 127 of Paul Atterbury's definitive book on Moorcroft Pottery.
The bowl measures 11 x 8 1/2 inches. It is is excellent condition for a 100 year old piece. We had it professionally hand polished when we purchased it. It is a little dusty from sitting as part of a Tudric display in our dining room and there appears some light surface marks but a little light polish should restore it to great condition. The insert is in excellent condition, no chips or flaking.
The photos form part of the description so please examine them closely. We invite you while you are here to look at the other high quality art nouveau collectibles that we have on offer.
