Linden wood is used for our sculptures because it is not too hard, it is quite light and when dried in our modern dryer, it does not crack, as is often the case with other types of wood. Only the trunk is worked, up to the attachment of the branches, because it is without knots.
The tools used today for woodworking are not very dissimilar to those used by our ancestors. Only the use of the electric saw was added in the initial phase of cutting the log.
The colors used in the painting of our pieces are oil. The painters combine 12 colors in order to obtain a varied scale of turning. Once spread, the colors are shaded by hand, a technique that makes the pieces of Demetz Art Studio unique and recognizable.
