🟩PRODUCTS🟩
Product DescriptionThis is a Tokoname-yaki teapot crafted by Tsubodo Yoshikawa, a Designated Intangible Cultural Property of Tokoname City and a highly esteemed traditional craftsman. He has received the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Ray and is one of the most celebrated ceramic artists in Japan. His works are highly sought after, particularly in China and internationally, making them extremely rare and valuable.
One of Tsubodo’s most renowned techniques is intricate carving, a skill he has mastered and even taught for decades. His exceptional craftsmanship is immediately evident in every piece he creates.
This teapot is a masterpiece that recreates "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" from Katsushika Hokusai’s "Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji". The breathtaking waves towering over small boats, with Mount Fuji in the background, have been meticulously carved onto the three-dimensional surface of the teapot. The depth and texture achieved through this technique make the piece feel even more dynamic than the original print.
Beyond its artistic beauty, this lightweight teapot is designed for functionality. The spout features finely crafted holes, eliminating the need for a tea strainer and allowing the pure flavors of tea to fully develop—hallmarks of Tokoname teapots.
This is one of Japan’s finest teapots, a world-class collector’s item that you can own, admire, and use. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to bring home a Tsubodo original.
