1914 Heavy Metal Original Porcelain Sign: COMMUNITY STORES COMPANY
This sign was acquiredfrom a gentleman in Massachusetts who removed it from under the loft floor boards of a local 1900's carriage house he was tearing down. The research on the sign was done at the Worcester, Massachusettshistorical society. The Community Stores Company was a short lived chain of grocery stores that were located on Park Avenue in the city around 1914. Apparently, the company owner ran into financial problems, and the company folded soon after it opened.
This monster is 10' long and 20" high. There are no hidden problems or issues. Many photos show the condition accurately. The green and orange colors are extremelybright, it displays really well.
The sign has no dents or bends in it. There are some small rust holes here and there, but overall the condition is great for a 100 year old sign.
You can pick it up here in Northeast Connecticut. Since you will be picking it up in person, you can pay for it when you get here after inspection. Anything can be shipped, but on something this size, I do not know of an economical way to ship it. If YOU DO, then, I will consider boxing it for a fee, but contact me first before purchase.
I've tried to picture everything, but if I missed something, serious buyers can request more photos if needed.
