Description

A Parisian bronze gilded pendulum clock

Silver-plated enamel dial with blued hands. 14-day running, anchor escapement with spring suspension and half-hourly striking to a bell. A large figural pendulum clock formed as Cupid crowning Psyche on a stepped base with a relief of Venus disarming Cupid. Slightly stained patina. H 65, W 43, D 14 cm.1st quarter 19th C., the bronzes after a model by Claude Michallon, Paris, ca. 1814.
